Business Scope    History    Infrastructure    Employees      Customers    Suppliers	 Business Scope Overberg supplies and maintains most types of computer systems and software. Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT/2000, Windows XP, Novell and Unix networks are installed and administrated - including the required network cabling backbone. Our workshop also repairs many types of printers and other peripherals. We develop business database systems and currently have packages installed in the abalone, wine and security industries. Several of our clients are also provided with unique and specialized maintenance i.e. ADT Security and the National Research Foundation.  History Two ex-Denel employees, Johan Shultz and James Sleigh formed Overberg Computers CC in April of 1995. At that time both Johan and James were consulting independently. After joining forces they moved into the first premises at no. 6 Harbour Road in Hermanus. Overberg Computers CC quickly expanded and, being the first professional computer business in the area, the list of clients grew rapidly. In December of the same year the first employee was appointed to help with the large amount of technical work. In July of 1996 Johan returned to Denel and James became the sole member of the corporation. The business continued to grow and the staff compliment increased. In May of 1999 the entire corporation was bought by Jaco Visagie, who immediately embarked on a new expansion drive. Overberg also moved into the area of providing customized solutions for back up, Internet access, email and data storage.  Infrastructure During April 2001 the corporation moved into its current premises at Unit 3, Eastcliff Village in Hermanus’ Main Road. The floor space measures 150 square meters and contains our retail area, workshop, offices, servers and Internet technology. The offices are fully networked, incorporating three servers, and serve as an example of the quality of our installations. Our dedicated ¼ Terabyte Network Attached Ghost Server enable us to image our client’s data before a repair commences, thereby eliminating the possibility of data loss. The Corporation currently has three vehicles, which are used to service clients from Cape Town to Riviersonderend.  Employees Overberg Computers CC currently employs two consultants, six full-time technicians, a sales assistant, office administrator, receptionist and cleaner. Several of our employees are Microsoft Certified Professionals and many also have A+ certification. A presence is also maintained in the Stanford / Gansbaai area with a semi-permanent technician based in Stanford.  Customers Since 1995 Hermanus has grown dramatically and there has been a strong inflow of new customers. Overberg Computers CC has clients ranging from large businesses to private individuals, including schools, hospitals, factories, hotels, municipalities, etc. We take great pride in our unrivalled levels of technical expertise and the high quality of hardware and services provided.  Suppliers Overberg Computers CC has excellent relations with all of the Cape Town hardware and software suppliers as well as many Johannesburg based suppliers. We are authorised Microsoft resellers and importers/distributors of Deerfield, MicroWorld, Dovico and Mansfield software products. We are the sole distributors of Psion products in the Overberg region. Due to our strong track record we have good credit terms with our suppliers and our technical competence has earned us their respect.
